More than a dozen firefighters are suing the City of Calgary
Monday Oct 17, 2022
Monday Oct 17, 2022
In this episode Constitutional Lawyer Leighton Grey and Stephen Whitehead have a conversation about how Stephen came to practice family and constitutional law, what it’s like dealing with pandemic issues in the Canadian Judicial System, and how he’s been working to fight tickets that were issued during the pandemic restrictions.
Stephen has been an associate lawyer primarily practicing in Family, Civil and Constitutional Matters since June 2021. He practices out of an office in Calgary and is also called to the bar of the Yukon and Northwest Territories. He can serve clients all across all three regions.
Stephen completed his undergrad at U of C in French Literature and Law Degree at Thompson Rivers University. In the past, Stephen played and coached football. He coached for eight years before hanging up his whistle (for now).
Since the start of the pandemic, Quebec has issued millions of dollars in tickets for public health violations, but only a fraction of them have actually been paid so far, according to provincial data. From April 1, 2020 to Dec. 31, 2021, authorities have handed out a total of 30,488 tickets to citizens and businesses for not following measures under the Public Health Act.
Whitehead and Grey have a conversation about some of the cases they are working on including an update from Tim Stephens, a previous guest on the Grey Matter Podcast, the progress the legal team has made during the ongoing legal battles that have ensued, and how they hope things turn out as they continue the work they are doing.
More than a dozen firefighters are suing the City of Calgary over its mandated policy for employees, claiming it violated their rights. Nineteen Calgary firefighters are seeking $38 million in damages from the city, according to a statement of claim filed with the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench on July 7, which amounts to $2 million per firefighter.

Taking Back Our Freedoms one person at a time
Thursday Oct 13, 2022
Thursday Oct 13, 2022
In this episode Constitutional Lawyer Leighton Grey and George Bears have a conversation about how George came to be the co-founder of the Taking Back Our Freedoms organization, the role he played in providing support for the notorious Canadian Freedom Convoy, and why it’s so important that we all take action to prevent a tyrannical government in Canada.
Mr. George Bears, a strong visionary, and a principled influential leader, has developed expertise working with charitable and commercial enterprises, corporate donors, financial institutions, and lenders, and has secured funding for oil and gas, mining, real estate development, the tech sector, and for charitable organizations.
George served for 5 years (1986-1991) in Ottawa, as National Director with Victims of Violence in the Canadian Criminal Justice System, advocating in Parliament and across the country, for surviving family members who lost loved ones to homicide. He personally spearheaded Canada’s first and only national unsolved homicide research and identification program. He also established a National Missing Children’s registry.
George worked with key federal Members of Parliament to make many critical policy changes to parole regulations, and he played a significant role in the extradition of serial killer, Charles Ng, who sits on death row at San Quentin, California, for the premeditated murder of 12 innocent men, women and children.
George continued to work with key political leaders for additional causes over the years. He was one of the founders and directors of the Foundation for National Policy Trust Canada, a public policy action group working with Roy Beyer on a national campaign to defend traditional marriage. This campaign, with Roy’s leadership, went on to win 26 key ridings in southern Ontario and Manitoba to help elect Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
TBOF was originally founded to push back against and secure the full repeal of all COVID-19 vaccination mandates. During our struggle against these immoral, unethical, and unconstitutional measures, we realized that the pandemic’s entire mismanagement and resulting restrictions were merely a symptom of a greater malaise in Canadian society.
TBOF’s Vision is to empower Canadians to recreate their country as the loving, just, and compassionate nation it was meant to be. To reclaim our institutions through local and national citizen engagement. To proliferate a culture of individual duty for the health of our democracy and to rapidly and regularly hold public officials personally accountable when they do not uphold the best interests of the people.
Bears and Grey take a deep dive into the progress the Take Back Our Freedoms organization has made during Government overreach in Canada, how you can get involved to continue the fight for Canadians rights and freedoms, and how George plans to keep the momentum TBOF has built running forward into the future of Canada’s freedom.

Could multiculturalism be a misguided idealism?
Monday Oct 10, 2022
Monday Oct 10, 2022
In this episode Constitutional Lawyer Leighton Grey and Salim Mansur have a conversation about the big difference between the multicultural idealism that Canadians understand and multiethnic principals that have challenged the state of our collective culture, the problem with Canadian politicians and how they’re heavily influenced by foreign organizations, and what Canadians can do to reclaim the country.
Salim Mansur is a Professor Emeritus of Political Science at the University of Western Ontario in Canada. He is a former columnist for the London Free Press and the Toronto Sun, and has contributed to various publications including National Review, the Middle East Forum and Frontpagemag.
Mansur was born in Kolkata, India and moved to Toronto, Ontario, Canada where he completed his doctorate studies in political science. He was a candidate for the People's Party of Canada for the 2019 Federal election.
Salim is an academic-consultant with the Center for Security Policy in Washington, D.C. He has been a consultant with CIDA on development issues and has published widely in academic journals on foreign policy matters and area studies of the Middle East and South Asia.
Mansur said in 2009 that Climategate revelations "falsified" a theory associated with the claim of man-made global warming.[21] He has also suggested that climate scientists, "corrupted by the lure of money and influence, subscribed to the UN-based scheme for the largest global tax grab and revenue transfer.
Professor Mansur specialized his focus on international relations and comparative politics with special interest in the politics of South Asia and the Middle East. He has written extensively on these topics since 1994 with his first publication "The Indira-Rajiv Years"
Mansur and Grey explore the idea of modernity and its role in our collective cultural evolution, why it’s important to make a distinction between tolerance and political correctness, and why he is championing his message in spite of the cancel culture backlash.

Gas giant ATCO under fire as employee lawsuits unfold
Friday Oct 07, 2022
Friday Oct 07, 2022
In this episode Constitutional Lawyer Leighton Grey and Matthew McCarthy have a conversation about his role in the ATCO company, how they rolled out the mandates and incentivized their mandate program, and why he decided to say no.
Matthew is among more than 30 ATCO employees who have launched court action against the Calgary-based energy company for requiring employees to be "fully vaccinated" against COVID-19 as a condition of employment. Most of the ATCO employees listed as plaintiffs are not vaccinated, oppose being vaccinated for various personal reasons, and all oppose being required to attest to their vaccination status.
In a recent interview with The Western Standard Matthew said ATCO brought forward a "vaccine incentive program" before the mandates were put in place offering all employees $1,000. "This was done to further coerce the employees, as well as a clever way to find out what percentage of their employees were vaccinated, without actually asking"
ATCO introduced its Workplace Vaccination COVID-19 Standard policy on Oct. 28, 2021 that required all employees to "demonstrate they were vaccinated or have an approved exemption" and "disclose their private health information" by January 1, or face being placed on an unpaid leave of absence. Employees who still had not complied by May 2 were terminated.
McCarthy & Grey explore the work culture at ATCO, how Matt did his best to come up with a mutually beneficial arrangement, and why ATCO was otherwise unwilling to work with their employees to continue working.

Take back your financial power using the Infinite Banking Concept
Monday Oct 03, 2022
Monday Oct 03, 2022
In this episode Constitutional Lawyer Leighton Grey and Richard Canfield have a conversation about how he came to find himself in the world of financial independence, what it means to take back the banking function in your own life, and how that can help you protect and grow your net worth.
Richard has been passionate about wealth-building from an early age. The son of entrepreneurs, he worked afternoons and evenings for the family business while maintaining honor grades in high school. In 1999, he entered the electrical trade and quickly established his reputation as the young man who could be counted on to take full responsibility for any project and deliver outstanding results every time. By the age of 21, Canfield had also received a practical education in real estate investing, having handled the financing and cash flow of multiple properties in his family’s portfolio in addition to his own ventures. All while working full time and completing his Electrical Apprenticeship. At age 26 he was earning a healthy six figures contracting for an oil sands giant in Ft. McMurry, Alberta.
Richard dove headfirst into mastering the Infinite Banking Concept®, optimizing it for Canadians, and connecting with people who were tired of not having control over their financial destiny. Today, Richard’s passion for teaching and helping others join him at his level of success is his primary mission in business and in life. Richard is an Authorized IBC Practitioner and recognized by the Nelson Nash Institute®, where he rapidly distinguished himself as one of R. Nelson Nash’s star students. For Richard, helping families take more control back over their financial life is one of the most gratifying feelings. He believes that if we help raise the financial independence of more and more people we also increase the power and potential to give to our communities. This ripple effect stretches much wider than just the folks he is able to help.
Mr. Canfield enjoys connecting with people that are excited about taking control back of their financial life and are ready to get engaged regularly in the process. They want to attend client events and webinars, become active members of the Private Banker community and share their excitement and wins by embracing this concept with friends and family.
Canfield & Grey take a deep dive into why it’s so important to take back your power and control when it comes to your financial decisions, how important it is to adjust the way you think about money, and how you can become a practitioner of the Infinite Banking Concept.

Why are more and more Albertans talking about separatism?
Thursday Sep 29, 2022
Thursday Sep 29, 2022
In this episode Constitutional Lawyer Leighton Grey and Josh Andrus have a conversation about his involvement in politics leading up to the inception of Project Confederation, the role western separatism has played in Canadian politics and policies, and why Albertans have resoundingly spoken up about sovereignty and independence.
Josh Andrus is the Executive Director of Project Confederation at the Alberta Institute, an independent, libertarian-minded public policy think tank that aims to advance personal freedom and choice in Alberta.
Mr. Andrus is a fourth-generation Albertan from Drumheller and holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Lethbridge, majoring in Economics and minoring in Political Science. Prior to joining the Alberta Institute, Josh worked as the Executive Director for a grassroots advocacy organization and volunteered in several political and policy roles.
Josh is a Guest Opinion Columnist at the Calgary Sun as well as a Columnist at the Western Standard. He has written on subjects like equalization, government overreach, and other challenging political topics that most writers have chosen to ignore.
Some would consider Josh Andrus an outgoing, intelligent & career oriented individual working within a complex political environment that utilizes strong leadership, business knowledge and teamwork skills. Josh has dedicated countless hours to political progress and a focus on inward party evaluation.
Project Confederation's mission is to update the current system of confederation to better represent Western Canadians in government decisions and policies. They believe a constitutional convention may be the only way to keep the country together.
Andrus & Grey don’t hold any punches when discussing why cultural alienation has had such a massive impact on the actions of the Canadian Federal Government, how recent events and government overreach have fueled the pushback against mandates, and how important it is for the public to get more involved in politics to create positive change in our society.

CN Rail faces it’s second lawsuit in the battle against mandate overreach
Monday Sep 26, 2022
Monday Sep 26, 2022
In this episode Constitutional Lawyer Leighton Grey and Christian Jones have a conversation about how his experience in real estate led him to work for CN Rail, what happened when the mandates were imposed, and how he is working to hold those responsible accountable for their actions.
Corporately based in Alberta, Christian Jones has been the provincial Land Department Head for the World’s top real estate brokerages. To achieve this milestone Christian studied real estate by developing industry-leading land-mapping software. Through data-driven decisions, his clients were informed of the latest market trends, comparables, and listings.
In addition to his expertise in Real Estate, Christian's experience runs much deeper having managed the real estate assets of Canada’s leading railway company, CN Rail. The multi-billion-dollar real estate portfolio included over 100,000 acres and millions of square feet of office and industrial space.
Mr. Jones exercises his expertise by showing investors hidden property potential by evaluating zoning, density, development potential, and market forecasts so they make strategic transactions. With a decade of assisting corporations, developers, investors, and owners, Christian continues his strong momentum today!
During the conversation Jones & Grey touch on the fundamental rights that each of us had and how they were violated by employers operating as an extension of an overreaching government, how Christian has been able to organize a group of people to bring forward a lawsuit against the corporate giant CN Rail, and what they hope to accomplish with the actions they are taking.

How can fasting heal your body and prevent chronic illnesses?
Friday Sep 23, 2022
Friday Sep 23, 2022
In this episode Constitutional Lawyer Leighton Grey and Steve Hendricks have a conversation about how Steve became interested in the idea of fasting and the science of health, how the science of fasting has evolved dramatically over the last decade, and what the big difference between intermittent fasting and prolonged fasting are.
Steve is a freelance writer living in Boulder, Colorado, and the author of The Oldest Cure in the World: Adventures in the Art and Science of Fasting, which has been published by Abrams Press on September 6, 2022.
In his book "The Oldest Cure in the World: Adventures in the Art and Science of Fasting" Steve writes about the history and science of fasting and his own experiences with the practice.
Mr. Hendricks was born in Arkansas, raised in Texas, and educated at Yale. After college, he spent several years in Seattle and Montana, where he divided his time between writing about politics and doing politics. Steve twice ran for local office in Helena, Montana.
Steve's book on fasting, The Oldest Cure in the World, had its genesis in an article he wrote for Harper’s in 2012. That article took a light stroll through the history and science of fasting and recounted a fast of twenty days that Steve undertook partly out of curiosity but mostly to control his expanding waistline.
The Oldest Cure in the World is about the history and science of fasting as well as the experiences Steve has endured with the practice. This new book was born from a long gestation that has yielded a more complete and livelier chronicle of fasting than has ever been told.
Steve writes that virtually everyone who wants better health can benefit from the science of fasting. The best research on the topic suggests that unless you have an extremely rare disorder that makes it dangerous to go several hours without food, a fast will induce metabolic repairs that will make you healthier and help you live longer.
Hendricks & Grey take a deep dive into the science behind fasting for adults and how it’s been proven that in some cases it can help with chronic illness, how some studies have shown fasting can even reverse some of the damage we do in eating poorly, and what you can do to try fasting for yourself!

Former NHL Player Brantt Myhres on the addiction problem in pro sports
Monday Sep 19, 2022
Monday Sep 19, 2022
In this episode Constitutional Lawyer Leighton Grey and Brantt Myhres have a conversation about some of Brantt’s earliest memories of his experience with the game of Hockey, how the culture of the good ol’ hockey game has evolved over the last couple decades, and how he came to find himself tangled up in a web of addiction.
In 1990, Brantt sported a Western Hockey League jersey for his first time, a league he played in for the next four seasons. Brantt eventually went on to lace up for the Portland WinterHawks for a season and a half, before being traded to the Lethbridge Hurricanes. After two seasons in his home province with Lethbridge he ended his WHL career with the Spokane Chiefs. Myhres was selected 97th overall in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning.
During his NHL career Myhres went on to play for the Tampa Bay Lightning, Philadelphia Flyers, San Jose Sharks, Nashville Predators, Washington Capitals, and Boston Bruins. He was suspended four times by the NHL for failing drug tests and was eventually banned from the league for life. After becoming clean and sober and studying substance abuse behavioral health at Mount Royal University in Calgary, Myhres was hired by the Los Angeles Kings in September 2015 as the team's player assistance director.
The Edmonton-born Myhres went on to play 154 games at the NHL level, accumulating a whopping 687 penalty minutes in the process. Brantt wasn't around for the birth of his daughter. Despite having played for seven different NHL teams, and making millions he had partied his way out of the league. By the time his daughter was born, he was penniless, sleeping on a friend's couch.
In a memoir titled "Pain Killer" which was released in 2021 Brantt shares the unpolished, unpretentious, and unflinching story. Myhres tells it like it is, acknowledging every mistake, and painting a portrait of an angry, violent, dangerous man caught in the vice of something he couldn't control, and didn't understand.
Myhres & Grey talk about the connection between tragedy, trauma, and their ties to addiction, how self destruction becomes the inevitable path because of addiction, and how he pulled himself out of the darkness to find himself back in the world of hockey serving others with his knowledge and experience.

Was the pandemic a big marketing campaign? Ken McCarthy Explains.
Thursday Sep 15, 2022
Thursday Sep 15, 2022
In this episode Constitutional Lawyer Leighton Grey and Ken McCarthy have a conversation about his experience in the world of business and marketing, how he came to document the ongoing discrepancies in reporting on the pandemic, and how his marketing experience led him to conclude that there was something nefarious about the way the governments of the world responded.
McCarthy is best known for his pioneering work in the movement to commercialize the Internet in the first part of the 1990s. In the summer of 1994, McCarthy commissioned Hank Duderstadt to write a cover story for the Internet Gazette on the potential of streaming video on the Internet. In 1995, McCarthy organized and sponsored a conference on the topic of using the web as a local publishing medium to assist community building. McCarthy has also worked with challenged communities — Hudson, New York and New Orleans, Louisiana — to develop strategies to use the web to organize citizens and engage in public education and outreach.
In addition to his work in the Internet industry, McCarthy has been involved in the music industry, as a concert producer and promoter; in the film industry, as co-founder of one of New York City's first digital film audio post production studios (When We Were Kings, Like Water for Chocolate); and on Wall Street, as a technical communications consultant to Bankers Trust and First Boston. Currently, Ken is a special adviser to levees.org and Friends of Hudson, a board member and adviser to Meals for Health and the proprietor of JazzontheTube, the second most visited jazz web site on the Internet.
"Unravelling the CoVid Con" is a collection of blog posts by Ken McCarthy edited by Paul Morrison, that shows - with time-stamped clarity - the multi-layered frauds that were used to sell the CoVid panic.
McCarthy & Grey take a deep dive into the events that unfolded during the early stages of the pandemic, how he spent his time investigating the claims that were being mad in the mainstream media, and how all of it added up to an alarming outcome.
